Try this, since you have updated all your software for your printer/scanner. Try this, go to print/scan in system preferences. Highlight your particular printer (you did not specify) and and click the the minus button to delete it. Then click the plus button to recreate it, if it is not in the list type it in and click plus, this is if you have downloaded the latest drivers, and you should be goood to go.
