Q: Photoshop Elements 4.0

Anyone purchase PE 4.0 for Mac yet? I want to buy the upgrade, but will wait if it doesn't "play well" with the iNtel Macs.

Thanks,

I don't own an intel imac, but I have used PE on one. It runs adequately, if not stellarly. I do think it runs better on my G5 imac than on the intel one, but since the first Adobe universal version of PS is going to be CS3 in Q2 2007, you might as well go for PE 4 for now, since it will be a long time (if ever) before there is a universal version of PE.

As someone who runs a small design studio with both the G5 and Intel CD iMacs, let me tell you: PE4 runs a bit slow for my needs in the Intel iMac...

This is, of course in comparison to the iMac G5, which runs it natively.

Well, with BootCamp now out there, you can do your PE4 stuff on your Windows partition---should be just as fast on the Intel iMac as any Windows box in the market... if not faster.

Yeh, that kind of changes everything now...I have an older copy of Photoshop CS 1 from when I was using Windows and will now install that with the Boot Camp/ Windows partition. I never used half of the features in it though and couldn't see buying it over the much cheaper PSE for Mac though.
