since you say it's both video and images I'd take that it's not a
dvd as in one you put in a dvdplayer and it plays a movie
so likely you can use finder to move the video clip to your harddisk and play it from there
gives better performance

I have to send the DVD in the mail to another state to be viewed there. It's for a job application, so I need all of the material - both jpgs and .mov files - to be playable on another Mac. This should be cake, but for some reason the .mov files are not transferring in the burn.
