Your Macbook drive is SATA. The newer drives - SATA II and SATA III - are backwards compatible and will run on your Macbook. But they will perform as SATA. In short, it does not matter what SATA version you get, since the Macbook uses the earliest.
I have installed a SATA II SSD in a mid 2010 Macbook (7.1). And another in a 3 year old Mini. The performance improvement is remarkable. I bought mine through Tiger Direct, which was having a sale on the 256 gB drive. Well worth the investment.
