Feb 28, 2012 12:40 AM in response to amacgby Ian R. Brown,Click the FCP icon in the menu at the top and select About FCP
The serial should be there though it may or may not contain the final triplet.
The serial is usually composed of a single letter followed by 9 triplets after which is a group of 4 letter/numerals.

Feb 28, 2012 1:27 AM in response to amacgby Ian R. Brown,★HelpfulContact Apple but you must have written proof of purchase from an Apple store (not eBay etc.)
I wouldn't delete any of your existing apps until you have found your serials.

Feb 28, 2012 1:39 AM in response to amacgby Ian R. Brown,For normal Retail versions the serial appears on the splash screen briefly during startup.
I don't know whether this is true for education versions.
If it does you could take a screenshot.

Jan 9, 2013 8:11 AM in response to amacgby spikeddude,I had the same problem. My G5 crashed and when I restored everything from Time Machine, several of my more complex applications (like Final Cut Studio) would not work. I was able to order a replacement installation disk from apple for about $16 per disk (I only needed the install disk, but you could order the whole bundle if you need it). It took me a long time to find my original serial numbers so i thought i'd share the location with everyone!
The serials can be found in:
~Library/Application Support/Pro Apps/Final Cut Pro System ID
Good luck!

Jan 9, 2013 3:18 PM in response to spikeddudeby Nick Holmes,That file is encrypted and not readable in a recognizable alpha-numeric form.
It is also tied to the logic board of the computer that FCP is installed on. If your computer's logic board is replaced or the file moved to the same location in Finder on a new computer, the serial will no longer work.

Jan 9, 2013 5:52 PM in response to amacgby David Harbsmeier,FWIW, the serial number stickers were affixed to the front of the booklet titled "Installing Your Software." If you've lost that, you need to do what Ian suggested and provide proof-of-purchase to Apple.
