When we just installed the latest version of iTunes, it automatically started using iCloud to sync. For me, my previous settings were lost. I just had to go back in and manually change things. Ugh.

It seems like forever that my ipad2 and Microsoft calendars have been out of sync. I searched this entire site - Nada. Here is the step by step answer. http://www.slideshare.net/kingdallen/how-to-sync-calendars-12746215

Just tried to download the Google workaround (Google Sync) and found it has been discontinued as of Dec 14, 2012. They have new instructions, but I will need to read them and determine if I can still use this for my Outlook-iPad Calendar sync problem.
Anyone else find this too?

Google Sync gone.... I too just realized that my outlook stopped communicating with Google (thus with apple as well). Anyone have a solution for real time sync or will I have to leave Outlook?

I may be just over simplifying this but you can have several calendar, email and contact lists on each of your devices. Make sure you are puting data in the right one. If you are syncing MS Exchange for instance; on your phone/ipad, untick (or better delete) all calendars/inboxes/contacts except your exchange one and perhaps do the same in MS Outlook.
It is so easy to make an entry on one device in one calendar that is not synced on another device. I have done it loads of times. On the iphone/ipad they are differentiated by name and a coloured dot in the calendar list, but just the dot against the appointment. Easy to miss.
I guess it may be the same on other severs.

What have you done to solve this problem?

Since Google Sync stopped syncing with just plain Outlook ( I don't have exchange) in mid Dec. I left outlook, moved to web based gmail and calendar using Chrome, and left Outlook calendar. I left the email portion of Outlook as well, as there was no reason to stay when I couldn't use the calendar properly. It makes me think of going to Android after my I phone contract is done.

I have looked through the various posts and do not see one that offers a solution for my issue. My iPhone 4 stopped syncing with with my calendar 3 or 4 weeks ago. We run an Exchange server and everyone else's phone seems to work fine but mine. E-mail sync is no problem, contacts are no problem just my calendar is a problem. None of the scheduled meetings on my calendar do not sync over to my phone. However, if I am invited to a meeting I receive the notification and can add it to my phone based calendar but if I add a meeting on the calendar through my client PC it doesn't sync.
So $19 later and an hour on the phone with Apple they have no idea, we reinstalled the OS but to no avail......last words, there must be a problem at the server level or ISP, It can not be the phone! Contacted ISP, no problem according to them, quick look at server nothing obvious and oh yeah everyone else's iPhone's work just fine. I finally convinced one of of my colleagues to allow me to add my account to his phone and see if it it synchs, guess what it worked fine, all my appointments came over. Ok has anyone ever heard of this and is there a possibility it is the phone????? Sounds strange but the results of the experiment would suggest it is the phone!!!
Any comment would be appreciated!iPhone 4S

Interesting, I had the same problem of no option to select calendar while other iPhone 4s I looked at had this option. When I discussed this with Apple they had me wipe the phone (backup to iTunes first) then reinstall the OS. It worked I now had the option to "select calendar" however, it still does not sync even after choosing Exhange caledar!!!!

Hello VJC NJ:
Make sure that you are NOT running Outlook as Administrator (right click Outlook->Properties->uncheck "Run as Administrator". For some reason calendar sync (Outlook <-> iCloud) does not work if you run Outlook as administrator.

SORRY FOR MY HORRIBLE ENGLISH but maybe this can help someone... Scenario: Outlook sync Calendar (2600 dates more or less) with Nokia N95 8Gb but not with IPhone (Outlook 2007, ITunes 188.8.131.52, IPhone 5 using USB cable). There were some recurring events without an end date: I fix it with 31 january 2100... it works now!

I cannot understand why the calender Sync can work one day and then never again!!
I have not changed anything on the phone settings, never used iCloud as I have a seperate cloud back-up system that operates under UK data protection legislation as we have to have that for the indutsry we work,I just carry out the IOS updates as when prompted by iTunes.
I am not an IT person and have no deisre to be one. The Sync to Outlook Calender is one of the few reasons to pick Apple over Android a few years back.
Apple must be well aware of the problem but offer no solution. A fix should be rolled out in an IOS update like they usually do. To be held to a set operator contract, more expensive than others, to use an iPhone is joke.
I need the Outlook Calender sync to work.I am not prepared to start changing settings, nobody has a fix that works on any thread.
Is there an IOS uodate on its way to fix this?

I don't think this is an Apple problem. I've been researching iphone calendar/Outlook sync problems for a long time, and I am an IT person. IMO, the problem is in Outlook. There are numerous complaints about Outlook's inability to handle simple calendar functions such as changing the end date (or creating one) for a recurring event. When you do that on your phone and then sync to Outlook, the results are unpredictable (duplicate events, missing events). When you do it in Outlook, you lose all exceptions. I realize that your problem is that you can't sync at all, but given how flaky Outllok is, I think you might try looking there for a solution to your problem.

Hi, I've spoken with Apple and they admit its a design fault with the latest update.
I'm just using the original version of iCloud again and all seems to be ok.

In true Apple style I have just synced my phone today, made zero changes suggested in the many pages of the same subject and the Calander synced straight away... figure that out!?!
