Hello my friends from all over the world:
I found the solution as well. After 11.0.1 update in itunes, I connected all my devices using USB cables at lease once and the it synced all my playlists. What all of you devices need is a simple reboot and logging in and out of the itunes match. It seems to solve the issue. Moreover it looked like the server bug out of anything. It will come back for you guys too.

Same here. Problems started last night, playlists are gone form my iOS devices and no album artwork is present. Tried everything I could finf to no avail. Somewhat glad to see I'm not the only one and it's not a problem with my devices.

Has this resolved for anybody? I'm still missing artwork. Though my playlists are still there, they don't sync, i.e. adding or deleting something from iTunes does not change the playlist on iOS devices as it should. This seems to be the same issue that surfaced last month that turned out to be an Apple server issue.

I too started having this issue yesterday. I still had playlists but they wouldn't update. I tried turning on and off iTunes Match and now have not a single playlist on my phone. Needless to say, I am quite frustrated.

Like others this issue appears to have re-appeared. I downloaded a few tracks from iTunes on my MacBook only to notice that they failed to appear on my iPhone 5 and iPad. I've reset iTunes Match on the iPhone 5 by deleting the the SQL files and rebooting. However, this hasn't worked as my playlists have not re-appeared. On my iPad the tracks have now appeared, but playlists are not updating. I would suggest that anyone experiencing the problem does not reset iTunes Match. Wait it out for a few days and hope provides a fix on their servers.
However, I will say that iTunes Match has been nothing but a headache. I don't think I'm alone in becoming increasingly frustrated with how this service fails to deliver.
Update: My Apple TV is also now failing to connect to iTunes Match.

I have this issue as well. Just bought an iPhone 5 today to replace an iPhone 4. After setup, my music appears to be synced with iCloud but (1) no artwork and (2) no playlists show up.

I called the issue in to Apple support. They were not aware of any issues but the tech said he would kick it to the engineers. I directed him to these forums as well, so he could see the issue was not just mine. If history is any guide, the server for playlists and album art must be the same, and it is clearly not working as it should. If you already have Match enabled and you see your playlists (but they just aren't updating) do NOT turn off Match on your iOS device or you'll lose the playlists altogether. We're just going to have to wait until Apple resolves it on their end.

I turned off the Itunes Match. I'll give them a little longer to fix the **** thing or I'll try and get a refund

i've tried absolutely everything. Since ios6 this has been a nightmare.....
im assuming it's a server thing and will give them more time...
playlists are just dead and wont do anything

I found out that it stopped sync playlists to iOS devices only, because my iTunes sync just fine, but both my iPhone and iPad lost all the playlists and Genius Mixes.
I really hope they could fix this soon!

Getting here in Australia, too. Just last night, I noticed my playlists weren't syncing via Match. Have been turning on and off, restoring, etc. all to no avail. About to go hit up an Apple Genius to see if s/he can't help. But it's probably a server issue, since it seems to be hitting so many people with the same problems.

Add me to the list. Playlists work across iTunes Mac clients (2 MacBook Airs and 1 MacBook Pro) but does not work on iPad mini, iPad3, 2 iPhone 5s. Frustrating for something that should "just work".

I have the same problem, bought a new iPhone 5 yesterday to replace my iPhone 4 and my playlists and artwork don't appear. What makes this even stranger is if you make a playlist on the phone it appears in iTunes!
