Hi,

I have a brand new installation of 10.8.2 . I installed the server app and started Calendar, Contacts, DNS, File Sharing, Mail, Open Directory and the Wiki services. I created a group with some users in it. I also created a group wiki and enabled the calendar for that wiki. The user group has r/w access to the wiki. The web interface to the wiki works from a client 10.8.2 client system. I can edit the group calendar through the web interface. I created an account in the Calendar application that connects to the server and shows the users' calendar. I altered the server path to /principals/__uids__/wiki-GROUPNAME/.

The calendar shown is still that for the user and not the one of the group. Hence my question: how do I access group calendars on a 10.8 server from the calendar application on a client?

I was checking on this too, hoping that Apple came to their senses and restored the functionality in 10.8.X.  What you are looking to do, works perfectly under 10.6.X iCal client.  Apple I guess never officially supported group wiki calendars in iCal, but it worked, and worked well.  Lion 10.7.X iCal broke this "unsupported" feature.  I would expect this kind of thing from MS.  Apple seems to be moving away from "it just works" to "well, it used to work."

Forgot to mention, you can techinically force it to work, but iCal breaks it for some unknow reason, taking it back to the users account after a day or two.  The best work around has been to create a new user, named the group name, and then allow delegates to access the calendar.  This however screws things up with the iphone calendar, as it didn't/doesn't handle delegates.  Again, hoping Apple comes to their senses on this.

For 10.8 Server, forget everything you did in 10.6 Server in regards to Wiki (group) calendars and iCal. It's totally changed. Wiki calendars are now accessed as Shared calendars and you can't add them directly to iCal using previous methods. You have to access the Wiki calendar first in your web browser. In the Wiki calendar, hover the mouse over the "i" icon just to the right of the calendar name, then click the link to add that calendar to iCal. The Wiki calendar will show up under your user CalDAV calendar in iCal 4. In iCal 3, the Wiki calendar will show up under a SHARED heading in iCal.

You can still delegated calendars on iOS, but the setup is a little tricky.  You have to add an entirely new calendar account, and enter the full ugly url with the users uuid.  It would be so nice if iOS just supported CalDav delegation.

Yeah, I'm aware of that, but trying to do that company wide, is not practical.  Not to mention I found doing that to be unreliable at times.  After all we are talking about group shared calendars.  Even if it was for personal, I wouldn't want to try to support extended family iOS devices so we could share a calendar.  Again, it should just work, thats the kinda the draw to apple.

I was able to get this working when using the IP address, DNS wasn't working. Apparently in iCal you can't import an ics to a Wiki Calendar anymore either. So I'm not sure how to even migrate my old Wiki calendars.

    Running:

    OS X Client 10.8.2 w/Calendar v6 (Build 1645)

    OS X Server 10.8.2
