The specs for WiFi sync say that it must be connected to the same WiFi network, not just the same router.

So, just to clarify... being connected to the same Wi-Fi network does not appear to be enough. The Wi-Fi connection needs to be the network connection your system is currently using by default. I guess that's the part that bothers me... is that iTunes won't look for the Wi-Fi connection and use it.
Is there a way to somehow force iTunes to use the Wi-Fi connection if it's available, instead of the Ethernet connection?

Actually, my phone will connect for WiFi sync when my computer is connected to 100baseT - sometimes. It may be related to packet size, or perhaps Bonjour only listens on one connection and chooses the wrong one.
