I had a MobileMe account and now I have an iCloud account. Why isn't mail sent to my @me address showing up in my@icloud account? I was told by Apple support that this would happen?

Did you every go through the migration process from MobileMe to iCloud.  Unfortunately, it's now too late to do that.

But try the following test.  Using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com using your icloud ID and password.  Then go to the email page and click the cog wheel in the upper right.  Go into preferences and look under Accounts.  There you'll see all your email addresses (all except the main one are aliases).  Do you have both xxx.me.com and xxx.icloud.com?  ("xxx" is your account name).  If so, then you should be getting email sent to xxx@me.com.

This helped a lot - at least I understand what the issue is.  Though Apple support assured me the xxx@me.com was linked to the xxx@icloud.com "behind the scenes) that does not appear to be the case - when I check the iCloud mail account there are no aliases shown.  Is it possible to simply add the xxx@me.com now as an alias or must I just abandon that account and inform all my contacts?

Thanks - your help is greatly appreciated.

If the xxx part is the same, the @icloud and @me are indeed the same account.

Unfortunately, all aliases that are now added to icloud accounts must be the @icloud.com variety.  But if you do have a xxx@me.com email address that works, then it must be associated with the same account.

Unfortunately the two are not the same.  This is clearly my fault for procrastinating and missing the conversion deadline.

I think the fact that the xxx portion of the @me account is not the same as the xxx portion of the @icloud account has fouled this up.  I can't access the @me account any longer so I think I have to assume it's dead.  Fortunately, I had shared the @me address with very few people.  Can't thank you and Mr. Churchill enough for your time.
