    Hi Gerry,

    have You ever tried the "rc-vaction"-PlugIn?

    https://github.com/bhuisgen/rc-vacation

    This shows the ability to have "start / stop"-dates as 10.6.8 showed them in the Wiki-interface.

    There is also a PlugIn called "response" which shows the feature..

    http://feurix.org/projects/response/

    Many thanks in advance.

    Sven

    Very helpful chain going here.  It got me up and running.  I have one problem now though.

    I'm unable to view (or edit) any of the filters that I created in Roundcube.  As I said - EVERYTHING was working just fine until I added a new user and attempted to setup the webmail forwarding rules this morning.  The error I see when I try to add a filter "Unable to connect to server".

    I'm not sure if the recent update to the server app got me or not.  Here's my config:

    *Running 10.8.2 and version 2.2 of the Server App

    *DB is Postgres

    *Roundcube 8.1

    *Manage Sieve 5.1

    *New User Dialog 1.5

    What I had to change due to the server app update:

    *Changed the plist file in the library/server/postgresSQL/config to DROP the listen to address.  The file was named org.postgressql.postgres.plist.

    *Changed the plist file in the library/server/postgresSQL for Server Services/config to ADD the listen to address.  The file was named com.apple.postgres.plist.

    I know I'm overlooking something here...

    I would like to thanks redshift82rfor all the helpful help he has provided to all of us, with this I was able to install RoundCube, enable Sieve in Dovecot, and install the ManageSieve plugin for RoundCube on 10.8.2 Server.

    For people not able to activate sieve, I had to add another setting to be able to use it (after adding the sieve in mail_plugins in 15-lda.conf and 20-lmtp.conf) :

    sudo serveradmin settings mail:imap:enable_sieve = "yes"

    and stop/start mail. After that I could telnet to port 4190.

    I have another question of my own, don't know if anyone could help me. I'm able to add filters, save, etc etc. But they seem to trigger only when I send the email to the real shortname of the user. For example, you create a user Joe Blow, his first shortname will be joeblow, and maybe you added aliases joe.blow, jblow, in WGM. Well my filter triggers on joeblow, but none of the other aliases... Which is kind of a bummer, anyone know how I would enable that?? Thanks in advance

    Jetly,

    try adding "-u _postgres" after sudo on your last line, it will use the user _postgres to create the db. so that line will become:

    sudo createdb -u _postgres -O roundcube -E UNICODE roundcubemail

    hope that helps

    Hi guys I need some clarification on round cube. When this app is setup i don't have to recreate all the users under round cube do i? I just want round cube setup for remote access to their email accounts which is already setup on the server. And I also want the auto reply feature for all the email accounts I have already setup on the server. So round cube should be just a outside portal to the email accounts and also for auto replies I don't want round cube handling the mail that should be the mail server.

    It really others me that apple has gotten rid of webmail or auto reply functions with 10.8 I guess apple could care less about the business users.

    This guys

    No you don't need to set the users up again..that is a fundamental misunderstanding of how it works...

    It's a pretty simple install really...

    Auto reply again is fairly simple...

    Thxs I have installed roundcube and it seems to be running OK all the checks are in the green and the databse connection seems to be working but I can't log in at all through the webmail portal I have made all the following changes: The login keeps saying login failed. I have been able to send a test email and recieved and also logged on succesfully from the config test page.

    in /your path to webmail/config/main.inc.php - change these lines

    $rcmail_config['default_host'] = 'server.domain.com';

    $rcmail_config['imap_auth_type'] = LOGIN;

    $rcmail_config['smtp_auth_type'] = 'LOGIN';

    $rcmail_config['login_autocomplete'] = 1;

    $rcmail_config['login_lc'] = true;

    $rcmail_config['plugins'] = array('autologon');

    Thx for the help

    Hey guys - so I've been looking into how to get dovecot to automatically sort email coming in based on any number of criteria.  This thread is one I came upon, as well as others.  I started following the breadcrums leading up to enabling Sieve, and saw that dovecot 15-lda.conf and 20-lmtp.conf files *already* had the sieve service listed in mail_plugins = .  So I figured I'd have to get ManageSieve working and followed that to find it too was enabled.  It's ALL enabled.   You can just telnet to the sieve port (4190), authenticate, and dump your script right into it.  Set it as active, and bang - you're done.  Now, the manually way is indeed a bit tedious, but I've been having trouble getting the stand-alone ManageSieve clients working properly, so I'm just doing it manually for now.  So, for a vacation script, you'd paste:

    require ["fileinto", "vacation"];

    # Move spam to spam folder

    if header :contains "X-Spam-Flag" "YES" {

      fileinto "spam";

      # Stop here so that we do not reply on spams

      stop;

    }

    vacation

      # Reply at most once a day to a same sender

      :days 1

      :subject "Out of office reply"

      # List of additional recipient addresses which are included in the auto replying.

      # If a mail's recipient is not the envelope recipient and it's not on this list,

      # no vacation reply is sent for it.

      :addresses ["j.doe@company.dom", "john.doe@company.dom"]

    "I'm out of office, please contact Joan Doe instead.

    Best regards

    John Doe";

    Now, manually you need to authenticate with plain auth and provide a base64 encoding of NULuserNULpassword.  You'll need to count the bytes of the script to.

    There's more examples here:

    http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Pigeonhole/Sieve/Examples

    I'd much rather do it this way as it's already there and I don't have to load up other stuff.

    t
