The question really is do Mac's get problems or was this just bit of a furphy to leed you down an garden path to load stuff that actaully could be a problem. or is there really a package you can run to check if you have any really issues or problems
While it is possible for Mac to be infected by trojans, it is highly unlikely that this scan was most likely a phishing attack or some advertisement claiming to do a bogus scan of you Mac. I would ignore it.

That was a scam website and you should immediately delete whatever you downloaded from it.

What Linc has told you is exactly correct. There is no way a web site can scan your hard drive over the internet. It's pretending to do so in order to trick you into downloading and probably purchasing something that best case you don't need and could perhaps even be harmful by harvesting privacy information from you and your hard drive.
