I am aware I can set it to "ignore" but I want to wipe out any trace of HP printer bloatware from my old MBP (OS Lion 10.7.5, cannot upgrade to Mountain Lion).

So I used the HP uninstaller and, in addition, manually found and removed HP files that the uninstaller did not remove. That was not enough, as doing Software Update still prompted me to download the HP update.

So my question is what file (plist maybe?) I have to edit in order to make my computer completely forget about the HP updates?  Attempting a "sudo grep -r -i HP *" in "/" and similar is quite hopeless.

Thanks in advance.
