Computer still has the problem after upgrading to 10.7.5.
At this point, I think I'll erase the hard drive and do a clean install of... 10.7 I guess, and see if it still exibits this odd behavior.

So I did a clean install of 10.7.5 and for a day the machine had no issues. Then I used Migration Assistant to import the owner's user account. I logged into their account, deleted the temporary account I made, then rebooted. After that I tested it, and the screen DID go black on wake again.
Based on all this, I'm thinking the problem has to be some random corrupt file. Something possibly sleep related, or possibly display related. I'm going to have to investiage that avenue next. Any ideas what software issues might cause this kind of problem? In other words, what preferences files may be causing it?

I just removed the whole ~/Library/ByHost folder, yet I'm still having this problem.
I'm really stumped here, what else could be causing this problem? It's something in the User's folder, I've proven that. But I don't see any display or sleep related prefs files.
