Can anyone definitely report if the new 2012/2013 iMac 27" i7 3.4ghz fan noise is quieter than previous iMac models? (primarily when anything processor intensive - exporting video, etc)

The late-2009 27" i7 2.8ghz was/is very noisy when doing anything with video or anything at all that would tax the processor. I always assumed because that quad i7 2.8 chip at the time was the upgrade above the standard higher end i5 model - me thinking it was simply too hot for the iMac internal design at the time where the slower i5 chips wouldn't kick the fan up so hard.   (The previous iMac 24" before that was quiet as a mouse)

Before I upgrade a.s.a.p. to new top of the line 3.4ghz i7 27"  I'm nervous that this extra-upgraded chip configuration will run hot, and thus noisy, too.  If so I will step down to the 3.2hz i5 config.

This is not trivial for me. Hate to ask this question here but for over 3 years my very fast iMac has been driving me crazy when trying to concentrate while working due to the aggrevating loud noise.   From many threads on many other sites over past 3 years I see I wasn't alone.

Thanks in advance to whoever can answer.
