I had not used garageband for a while and was still running 4.1.2, when i opened the program, I got the error report "Selected Driver not found. (-10202). The program opened fine but would not import any mp3 tracks. I updated to 6.0.5 and have exactly the same problem. It does not matter if i drag n drop from finder or if I drag n drop from the media browser sidebar. The 'importing' bar dropdown appears but nothing makes it into the window.

Here is my system info:

OSX 10.7.5

Mac mini 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Intel GMA 950 64MB

Garageband 6.0.5

Many Thanks

Do the mp3's you are trying to import have a .mp3 or .MP3 extension?

    "Selected Driver not found. (-10202)."

That is an error message, that the core audio driver is set to a driver, that does not exist or cannot be found.

Your GarageBand preferences may be still pointing to an old audio interface from your old GarageBand version. I'd try HangTime's fixes for "oddball problems" first, i.e. delete GB's preferences and repairing permissions on your computer, as described in the FAQ:

P.S. Are you using other audio software besides GB? Logic, MainStage?  Then check the Audio preference settings in these programs as well.
