Ipad apps and apps for Mac

Can I use an app for ipad on a desk top Mac. Like documents to go is not on the apps for Mac, it only for the ipad and iPhone. Even the app Dropbox is not there on apps for the Mac

    Niel's correct....iOS apps aren't the same as Mac apps, and can't be transferred and run on Macs.

     

    Regarding your statement about Dropbox, there is a free Mac app for it, but you'd have to go to dropbox.com and download it from there.  I don't know for sure, but it's possible Apple won't allow it in the app store because of their sandboxing restrictions.

    They're there because people may want to download them to a computer and then sync them to an iOS device.

    Dropbox is in the iOS app store, it is not in the Mac App store--likely because of the sandboxing restrictions as mentioned before.
