I work in IT and we have critical alerts that we forward to a specific folder. The emails come in as low, medium, high, and critical. We would like the ability to have just the critical ones alert or have a ring tone sound that will notify us of just those calls. Is this possible? We used a similar tool on blackberry's called Alert Matrix and we would like to purchae the Iphones for our IT staff of over a hundred, but need this functionality. We use Exchange for our email and GOOD for our servers.

I don't think so, just an universal alert for all email accounts.

In iOS 6, you can set separate alert tones for each mail account set up on the phone as well as a separate alert tone for VIPs. So long as the sender of the ones you want to alert for is unique, you can add the sender to the VIP list. You can have multiple Exchange accounts set up on the same phone. You could set up a special mail account that the messages would be sent to that uses a unique alert tone to notify them.

I can see several different ways to handle it and get what you want, but it may take a bit of re-jiggering on the back end.

I use a combination of ifttt.com and the app Pushover to alert me to specific emails. However, I'm not really sure that it would scale well to what you're trying to do.
