Not automatically. You can always overlay a text box or a one-cell table but it won't adjust itself if the chart changes and the point moves.
Then again, I might be answering a different question than you asked. Can you post a screenshot or a web page that shows what you are talking about in Excel?

This discussion does not quite make sense to me, and unfortunately you must join to download the excel file example. The last entry has some complex comand or formula that is beyond my ability. Maybe it makes sense to you.

Okay, it is what I thought it was. I was able to do it in Excel. Numbers does not have that feature. The information in my first post is about as close as you can get. As a practical matter, the Numbers workaround is only useful as a final step in creating a chart before printing or otherwise outputting the chart. It would not be very useful for a chart that is often updated with new data.
