Hi all... I need some help please.

I have several events with multiple clips in them.

I want to create a new event.  I would like to COPY multiple different clips to this new event.  I don't want to move clips from the events they are in now.

I want to do this because I want to put together a movie with several clips that I want to consolidte from several events.  But I don't want to move the clips, I want to copy them into a new event.  So yes, basically have duplicate clips, but in two different events.

Is this possible?  Please tell me it is

It is possible, but the way I would do this is to start a Project. You can drag clips from multiple Events into a single Project. That way you don't clutter up your hard drive with multiple copies of the same thing.

I made a birthday video for my daughter which used video from about 15 different events (different birthdays from the past).

If you still want to double up your disk space, let me know and I will walk you through it.

Here is one way to do it.

Create a folder in the Finder to hold these clips.

In iMovie, right-click on the event clip you want to copy, and select Show In Finder. In the Finder, Command-C to copy the clip. Paste it in the folder you created. Repeat until you have all the clips you want.

Now, in iMovie, click VIEW/GROUP EVENTS BY DISK. Select the Disk where you want the new event to be, and FILE/NEW EVENT

Now click FILE/IMPORT MOVIES... and navigate to the folder which holds your clips. Import them into your New Event.

You can drag a whole event at a time. Drag is a copy. Command-Drag is a move.

You can MOVE individual clips from one Event to another in iMovie (but not copy).
