My browser often freezes for several minutes at a time.  Occasionally, I get a pop-up from saying that Facebook is trying to open "facefile" or "like."  Both are php files.  Am I infected with something?

Hi, I'd guess not a virus, but are you on Facbook at all? (People worried about security woudn't be of course.)

Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

This definitely isn't malware of any kind. As to what it is, what site(s) do you have loaded when this happens? Can you provide a screenshot of the pop-up? (Press command-shift-4, drag a box around the area of the screen you want to capture, and the file will show up on the desktop. Then reply to this message, and click the camera icon in the editor toolbar to attach the screenshot file. Make sure the screenshot doesn't include any sensitive personal information.)
