".pdf" prpblems with Safari

".pdf" documents that I used to be able to save and print in SAFARI don't in the latest iteration of Safari.  If I click "print", the dialogue box comes up, but it shows the preview pages as blank and only prints blank sheets.  If I save the .pdf, and then try to open it in Preview or Acrobat Reader, I get a message that the software can't open it because the file is damaged or in an unacceptable format.


If I open the same page (url) in Chrome or Firefox, I have no problem.  The .pdf page displays properly, and can be saved or printed.  What gives with Safari?

Mac Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
