Okay when I went into the folder to copy the mp3's this is what windows says: Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you are trying to play, burn, or sync an item that is in your library, the item might point to a file that has been moved, renamed, or deleted.

You should have been going to the location the files are currently stored in using Windows Explorer, selecting the files and pressing ctrl-c to copy (or using a context menu), then going to the Automatically Add to iTunes folder and using ctrl-v or a context menu to paste. Windows Media Player should never have been involved.
