I'm using Safari version 6.0.2. In older versions, I could simply type something like "staples" (without the quote marks) in the address bar, and Safari would take me to the Staples web site without having to type www. in front, and .com on the end. But that doesn't work anymore. Now if I type "staples" in the address bar, Safari takes me to a Google search page for "Staples". I do have Google set in my Safari preferences as the default search engine. The address bar contains "Search Google or enter an address" until I type something in it.
Is there a way to set Safari so it will automatically go to the site I want to go to, without having to put www in front and .com on the end, and not go to a Google page?
