Go to iCloud.com and sign in with your apple id. Click the icons and verify you data.
If you see the expected data, on you MacBook Pro, click the apple >> system preferences >> iCloud. If you are signed in already, sign out. Then, sign in with the same id you used on the website. Check off the desired boxes and wait for the gears to stop spinning. Check the apps and see if they updated.

I am having the same problem. About 2 weeks ago lost Icloud communication for calendar and notes, between MacBook, Iphone4s, and Ipad2. I tried the instructions above, but when I tried to sign out one of the messages was that it would remove the calendar from the MacBook.
So I did not do that. Any other ideas?

Aslong as the data is present at icloud.com, it will return when you sign back in.
