Music not showing all albums in shared mode

Background:

On my iPad I have 62 albums (530 songs) that I copied-over from iTunes on my Mac (synced).  OK they all appear just fine.  Now on my Mac I have 423 Albums (many with just 1 song!) and a total of 1895 songs – the great majority from previous CD's I purchased the past 25 years and just copied to my iTunes collection.  I have the artwork for each of these albums.  They all display just fine.  The following issue also concerns iTunes 11 (I just upgraded):

 

In summary: When accessing my 423 albums (1895 songs) on my Mac 10.8.2 ML from my iPad 3 with iOS 6.0.1 I can only see 41 albums on my iPad (but in song view on my iPad I can see & play essentially all songs--1888 songs)-- WHY?

Issue:

When I display the 62 albums on the iPad all is super-- all songs, artwork and the albums are there -- and all views work fine.

 

BUT when I go to "Shared" and select my music from my Mac (the following, as said, is the exact same whether my Mac had iTunes 10.7 running or as today, 11.0.1):  1888 songs are there in Songs list view and all play (Not sure where the other 7 songs came from on iTunes and why they are not now on the iPad in shared mode)--- BUT THAT IS NOT the big issue.  THE BIG ISSUE IS: In ALBUM view on the iPad, only 41 albums show!  Back to SONGS view and 1888 are there.  Back to Albums view:  41 Albums and 19 are missing album artwork!  And in "Artists" view-- NOTHING zip NADA-- empty.  (Always the same 41 albums show and always the same 19 have no album artwork…)

 

FURTHER: When I try to do a search, let's say I type "Abb   for an Album by Abby Payne…  well after the second "b" the MUSIC app crashes.  Can't do a search in "Shared Music" mode.  (But on the 62 albums ON my iPad I can do searches easily and works fast and perfectly).

 

So -- not sure what is going-on.  I thought iTunes 11 would correct this-- no, exactly the same problem.  I have very fast (28 mbps download) Internet / WiFi-- not a connection issue…

 

I have restarted my iPad.  No difference.

 

Is there another type of start that does a type of reset? (I do NOT want to do a full back-to-zero reset as I have 612 apps running on my iPad and don't even want to think about how many years it would take to reload them…)

    Hi Stephen,

     

    I am having a similar problem with my iPad. This morning was listening to my music through the home sharing. Went out to do the grocery shopping to come home and find all my songs were no longer there (in album and artist view) When I click on the song tab viewer all my songs are still there. I have tried all can I think of to resolve the problem and have yet to fix.

     

    Is anyone else having a similar problem?

     

    Any help on the issue would be much appreciated.
