ADDITIONAL INFO: The 7 songs that are not showing on the iPad I now realize are "in the cloud" (iCloud). I downloaded 3 of them as a test and sure enough, my iPad when sharing the MacBook iTunes library now shows 1891 songs -- but this had NOT changed the fact that only 41 albums display in album mode and no artists in artists mode…

EVEN MORE INFO: I had to update some of my music labels in iTunes. Some artists were wrong on some classical music etc. WEL after doing that instead of 41 albums displaying in iTunes Share mode on my iPad - it had increased to about 60. (Still way short of 423!!!). AND most of the albums I updated now show (about 12) in the ARTISTS view. So it seems there is some change that can be made that activates an album to appear on the iPad--- If I knew what this were, I only have about 370 more to go…
I also noticed that several albums had incorrect album covers and artist names, but when you played the song, it was correct… Hard to explain but still can only play all the songs by going to SONG (a list) view.
Really would appreciate any replies here! I can't be the only one with this-- or should I repost in iTunes section?

I am having a similar problem with my iPad. This morning was listening to my music through the home sharing. Went out to do the grocery shopping to come home and find all my songs were no longer there (in album and artist view) When I click on the song tab viewer all my songs are still there. I have tried all can I think of to resolve the problem and have yet to fix.
Is anyone else having a similar problem?
Any help on the issue would be much appreciated.

Yes, this is still a mess. One has to basically sign-out of their account, immediately sign back in to get access-- and do this every 24 hours or even more often! And even then, SEARCH does NOT work in the shared mode-- it CRASHES the app!
Come'on Apple! Address this issue, please!
