I performed an SMC reset with no changes. Am I suppose to get any indications that a SMC reset was performed?

Just to make sure you did it right, if you have a non-removable battery: turn off the computer, make sure the adapter is connected, hold shift/ctrl/opt, then press your power button. It won't turn on. Release all keys and start up and test.
Also, at your desktop, click the apple, hold option, click system info. Select USB on the left under general. Does the camera show on the right? Might say iSight camera.

I do not see a camera or Isight. Although my camera worked before the upgrade is it possible I have a hardware issue? Most of the threads seems to occur after the upgrade to ML

Sorry for the late response.
If you don't see your camera there, it is likely a hardware issue.
You could always try it in a test user on the computer, to be sure, but doubt it'll help, since its not detected at all.
