As a new user of Aperture i do not understand the issues relating to transfer of an existing iPhoto library to Aperture.

I do understand that Aperture does use an existing iPhoto library without the need for migration, but i did a test and migrated the libary to Aperture and found that the detail was the same in both libraries but the file size went from. 28GB too 49GB, i would e greatful if i could get an explanation as to

1. Why the file size grow by so much

2. As Aperture uses an existing iPhoto library is there any benefit in migrating the library

3. If migrating the library helps is there a way of then sliming down the file size

Thanks in advance

i do not understand the issues relating to transfer of an existing iPhoto library to Aperture.

There are no issues as there is no transfer. Just open the Library with Aperture. Done.

As to your other questions: how did you Migrate the Library to Aperture?

And no, there is no benefit in migrating the Library.
