Hi all.

I shoot 1080 50p AVCHD on my Sony Alpha 57, and since it is 50fps, FCP7s "Log and Transfer" doesn't work.

So my question is; can you recommend any software to transcode/convert the footage into ProRes, and why would you choose that program (what are the pros/cons)?

By the way, at the time I shot MPEG-2 with my old sd camcorder, I found the fantastic (and free) program "MPEG StreamClip". So I tried that program again, and when it opens the file it says "File open error: unsupported file type", but I still got the option "Open Anyway", and then it just exports fine! So am I gonna loose any quality by this step, or is it just fine?

Also which of the ProRes's should I choose?

Thanks alot in advance!

Nicklas
