First of all get iTunes looking the way you are familiar with.
Ctrl B to show top menu on a windows machine
Ctrl+S show sidebar
Then click on
File > HomeSharing > Create Home Share
Enter the same apple ID on each machine. It MUST be the Same
authorise each others machine with the other Apple ID
Store > Authorise this Computer..
Then you should see something like this

I did that, but then the home sharing icon on the left side disappears.

You only see other computers here. So if you shared with another computer you would see that name here andd your library on the other machine

In version 11.0.1 the bottom line that has settings and import is not there. How do I find it to import a shared library to add songs to my i-pod. I am looking at the other shared music library, just can't import it. Very frustrating!!!!!

If you have home Sharing working you first have to import the songs to your computer and then sync to your iPod.

I've got it solved. I turned off Home Sharing on my main machine and then turned it back on and then both machines worked, Drag and Drop worked, the Import and Settings button reappeared.
I wonder why I needed to do that.
