iPhone 5 Autofocus Problem?

I have a white iPhone 5 which I love and use every day. I've never had a problem with it until today. Just an hour ago, my iPhone's camera began acting up. (Rear) Suddenly, it stops autofocusing. The iPhone tries to autofocus except it stops almost immediately. When I close my Camera app and reopen it, it begins as focused and proceeds to unfocus. I'm so confused and I do not know why this is being caused. Someone help! What should I do? Everything else works fine, including the front camera. The back camera does not appear to be damaged in any way. Any help is appreciated.

    have you tried turning the phone off then on again? have you tried holding the sleep/wake button and the home button until the phone restarts? if not, give those a try and let us know what happens.

    Same problem for me on auto focus right before a trip.  This is the worst phone I have ever had.  Going to Samsung if Vz will let me.

    so how was the matter solved ? what did apple care say to you  ? i find that my wife apple 5 is having the same issue.... pls help

    I am having the same problem right now. I will have to call Apple center and get it fixed.. it was working fine yesterday but it acted up today!

    Here in Brazil same problem and I took a look at internet lot of people complaining about the same issue. Do you think Apple could give us some piece of information? I'm a regular costumer they should show some respect to their clients....

    I am in Peru and that there is no authorized service center for apple support, I can do???

    Call in and have Appe document the case. If you are just visiting you can address the issue fully when you return. If you reside in Peru you will still need to call in and see if Apple can ship you a replacement.
