I upgraded to iTunes 11 and my iPhone 5 will not show up to sync, even when connected directly with the cable.... Any ideas?

    Hi dumaster,

With the new iTunes, when you hook up your device, it shows up as a button in the upper right-hand corner of the toolbar. If you click in the middle of the button, it will bring up the normal set of "Sync Tabs" for your device. If you click on the eject icon on the right, it will "eject" your device.

However, if you want to have the same "view" that the old iTunes showed you with the device displaying on the sidebar on the left, then click "View" on the toolbar at the top, and then click on "Show Sidebar". That will cause the old sidebar that you are used to seeing to display on the left.

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers,

Hmmmmm - not sure. So, here are some questions:

    1.  Has the phone ever shown up on your computer?

    2.  What version of iTunes are you running?

    3.  What version of OS are you running on your Mac?

    4.  Is your iPhone 5 software up to date? Sounds like from your question - it may not be?

Well, I've not tried to downgrade, but found an earlier post that has instructions on how to do it. The best way is if you use Time Machine, to restore to a backup prior to your iTunes update. Here is the link. Sounds like before you do anything you will want to make sure that you back everything up!

    Good Luck!
