Jul 7, 2012 2:44 PM in response to Kenneth Eby lllaass,The CCK will only import photos and videos in a format supported by the iPad. The photos and videos mustave an eight charactory name and be in a folder titled DCIM in the root directory of the SD card.

Jul 7, 2012 5:16 PM in response to Kenneth Eby Texas Mac Man,★HelpfulYou can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Jul 7, 2012 5:22 PM in response to Kenneth Eby Skydiver119,If your photos are named correctly, once you insert the SD card into the card reader, the photo app willjust open up and so will a dialogue box so you can chooe which photos to import
You can also import videos, but they have to follow the same naming convention as the photos.
apps cannot be imported, neither can documents or music, only photos and videos

Jan 21, 2013 11:07 AM in response to Skydiver119by CoachSandy,I was hoping to use the CCK to import movies from my video camera onto my iPad2 but when I plug it into the adapter it doesn't read it. Is it because my camera files need to changed to an 8 character name as mentioned above? To my knowledge, I cannot change the file names until after I import them to a device.
If this the case, then the CCK is pretty much useless for me, I guess.

May 19, 2013 11:46 AM in response to Abbey coxby King_Penguin,You can't transfer photos (or any other content) off the iPad with the kit (you can copy them to your computer). Does the store that you want to use have it's own app ? Or you might be able to upload the photos to the store's website via Safari.
