No - it uses the processed RAW - typically a JPEG

?? Want to ask again more clearly?

Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.

if the preview is good order the book

Raw isn't a file format like Jpeg or Tiff. It's just a sensor dump from the camera. You can't do anything with a Raw: can't view it, can't print it, can't use it in a slideshow or anything else. It has to be processed first.

So, you can't use  a Raw in a book. Instead, when you process a raw the output from that endeavour is stored as a Jpeg or Tiff. That's what gets used in the book. If you don't process the Raw then iPhoto uses a preview that's created on import.
