I imported photos from iPhoto to iMovie.  The photos had the correct orientation (rotation) in iPhoto but in iMovie they have all gone back to their original sideways position.  Is there a way to rotate the clips in iMovie, version 5.0.2?  I've spent hours on this so really don't want to start over.... please help!!

    Hi

As I understans it - it can only be done in a PROJECT (not Events)

    Select the photo Clip

then click on the double L-shape ontop of it (top left corner)

    then in the Viewer

You find in the center two arrows - Rotate to the left resp. to the right.

Version 5 was the first version I ever had, and to be honest, I don't remember if it is possible.

    SORRY

I was lost in versions (iM'11)

No iMovie 5 or 6 can not do this without a third part Plug-In (to be paid for)

So one use to use QuickTime-player (and most probably the Pro version)

Where You can open the clip and do lot's of cropping and flipping left to right and top to bottom

[cmd+J] - Show Property of the Movie

    and here

This rotated file You then re-import into iMovie 5
