iPhone 3GS drops call and reverts to apple logo

Fully charged iPhone 3GS with masses of free capacity drops calls after a few minutes chatting and reverts to apple logo.  I am not sure if is rebooting but seems to come back to life a couple of minutes later.  It has done this for months if not years and across several firmware versions.  It may very well have done it from new.  Is there an internal log that I can get at to see what is happening ?   Carrier will blame phone and Apple will likely blame carrier.  Someone help please.  It's been a great phone otherwise.  Note have not upraded to iOS6 because of crappy mapping.  Google Maps is one of my most used apps.

    There is no log.


    Basic troubleshooting steps from the manual are restart, reset, restore.  If you don't want to take these steps for whatever reason, then you will have to live with your phone the way it is.

    Doesn't really matter if you believe or not.  You cannot access the flash drive of the iPhone to check for any logs.

    If you go into Settings, General, About, then scroll towards the bottom, there is an area called Diagnostics and Usage. However, I don't really know if you would be able to see if the phone dropped the call or if the carrier dropped the call. There are so many different variables when it comes to call drops, carrier, tower, phone, etc. You can look at this diagnostic area and if there is a crash report it would show. However, again, I'm not sure if a dropped call would generate a crash report here. Guess the only way to find out is to check. What kind of signal strength are you showing when the call is dropped. Is this drop always happening in the same location, or in different locations. Have you contacted your carrier and have them check their end? Have them supply you with a new SIM card and see if that corrects things?

    Apple supposed to know how to read that, but like I said, there are a lot of variables when it comes to dropped calls. While trying to research this, see if your carrier will give you a new SIM card. That is an easy one to check out.

    Ok looking at you fighting with the fist person to respond earlier he is correct even apple geniuses cant access things like that. And most likely apple didnt ship thousands of faulty devices you most likely got a bad one in the shipment just like when i got my iphone 5 from verizon the speaker didnt work right. Its mostly your fault u didnt take it in in time while its still in warranty if it did it when u first got it then why didnt u go get it replaced? And to fix your problem it might be if your trying to do voice and data at the same time, as the 3GS is a older phone and might not be able to handle the high load anymore and the phone might have slowed down a bit.
