I may have the dumbest question in the history of the support boards, but can anyone suggest how I might find a lost "within the house" iPhone with the ringer turned off & Find My iPhone NOT set.

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 5.1.1

You would have to manually search your house, since you didn't set up find my phone.

    Look for it.

If it will not make a sound, then there is not another way.

If you have children, tell them that they are not allowed to touch it.  They will find it seconds.

Trust me, that's not the dumbest question we've seen around here.

Be glad you only lost it in the house... when you find it, enable Find my iPhone... http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2697

5 year olds have an uncanny ability to find any iPhone no matter where it's hidden (if in reach).
