Presumably, you mean that an existing shortcut no longer works after upgarding iTunes. If so, you simply need to delete that shortcut and create a new one.

I have the same problem. Reinstalled 20+ times. Every way i can think of. but shortcut says "The item referred to by this shortcut cannot be accessed. You may not have the appropriate permissions." Worked fine till i upgraded. No use in changeing shortcut becouse it dont open from start menu either. same reply...

If you have actually installed the upgarde, rather than simply download it, you need to look on your Start/All Programs menu (not simply the Start menu) for the newly installed link to the newly installed iTunes. Once you know where it is, then create a new shortcut for the desktop.

Do you read before you post the friend. I said I installed. I have the old one and the new one installed both. Removed and reinstalled. I get the same reply from the programs list as with the shortcut. It wont even play the music I have. Need help with this...not someone who dont have a clue..

    Do you?

Look very carefully at my user ID. Very carefully...

Actually, you also said "I have the same problem" and the OP said that he/she had downloaded it, no mentuion of installation. It wouldn't be the first time that someone's done that, but not actually installed the programme. With your post, I was attempting to cover all possibilities.

How rude and ungrateful. If you simply want to find reason to take offence when someone offers help, then I'm off.

Good luck to anyone else who's unwise enough to offer you help.
