I have reset my pc, and my phone, I have reinstalled the 64 bit version of itunes, I have checked to see that there are no conflicting 3rd party software packages that may be causing it - thats the assistant troubleshooting suggestions from apple site. I have seen the suggestion of downloading something from Motorola but not  overly convinced about that, or should I ? Help appreciated, thanks in advance.

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.2

In iTunes 11 the layout has changed. Try using the .view menu to show the left column in iTunes. Does your iPhone show up in the left column?

Did you reset your phone? Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

I am not terribly computer savvy and the thought of extracting files and such scares the daylights out of me.

Is this really the only solution to getting tthe device to show up on itunes?  My new iphone 5 works great, but I'm not able to sync it at all.

    Thanks a lot

    Brit
