It's a miracle - it works! I just tried it with my wife's V-Moda Crossfade headphones, which have the "Works with iPhone" 3-button remote. Everything worked perfectly - Siri, volume up/down, full track control
And it's nice and skinny, too, so there should be no issue for cases with tiny headphone openings.

I, too, have been looking for an extension and I stumbled on your post with excitement. The extension is only 3in. that doesn't do me any good. Have you seen one at least a foot or more?

I've always been a fan of taking sandpaper to the plastic of the plug.

Not working with my iPhone 4s. Anybody else with this problem or did I get a defective cable?

Sorry for asking but did you get the 3-pin one instead of 4-pin? The original poster seems to have an iPhone 4s (iPhone 4S, iOS 5.0.1, 64 GB, AT&T 3G, black) and it is working for him...
I just ordered one for my iPhone 4. Let's wait and see!

4-pin white. I ordered straight from the provided link...

Doesn't it work at all or is just the remote part not functioning?
Did you contact Radtech yet?

Sound works, but the remote doesn't. I did not contact Radtech because it turned out that I needed a longer cable anyway. I just went online and bought a used set of Philips headphones (SHQ1007). They come with an extension, and that one works flawlessly.

I can confrim after purchase from Radtech the ProCable Shortz Portable Cable Solutions Audio Extender 3.5mm 4-pin Male-Female lenght: 8cm / 3in item number 16022 works with the iphone 4s. I had needed because my otter case would not allow my credit card swipe to be used with out having to uncase the phone. Also I like the fact that with the adapter plugged in I can multi task and talk on a call with out the screen going black as my case it is dirty and blocks the light sensor. This was an unxspected add bonus for me.

Just wanted to throw out there that I just bought a 4-conductor 3.5mm extension cable from MyCableMart.com and all the mic and remote functionality works on both an iPhone 4S and a Mac Pro.
I bought the 6 ft extension cable, here's the link: http://www.mycablemart.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=3806
Nice and cheap: $2.67 for the cable plus another ~$2 for USPS first class mail shipping, got from MN to MA in 2-3 days.

Hey guys, just a bit of info you might find useful:
A standard "mini headphone jack" or 3.5mm jack is called a TRS jack plug. (Stands for Tip, Ring, Sleeve)
Apple headphones with the mic/remote use a 3.5mm TRRS jack plug. So called because it has a double ring.
If you search for a TRRS extension you'll find a lot more results, of better quality, than the ones already mentioned.

I purchased the RadTech Audio Gear: Extender Cable 3.5mm M-F, 4-Conductor, 4in - White for my iphone 5s and can confirm that it works great. The audio controls on the earpod works as well as Siri. The sound quality is just as great as the earpod's themselves. I had to get this because I bought an OdoyoUSA Powershell battery pack for my iphone 5 back in August and already, the audio extension cable that came with the battery pack broke. They don't sell these separately so I'm glad I came across this forum and the RadTech cable works great!
