I have the same problem - and it is not as simple as it seems.
I have accepted a subscribtion once and I have tried to delete it. But the iCal won´t give me the option to delete... the selection can´t be chosen and it doesn´t help to delete it - like you delete songs on itunes either.
Not sure what to do here??

The only way that I have found to permanently erase a calendar subscription is by:
1. Open iCal click the "Calendars" button to show the Calendars window pane on the left.
2. Select your calendar by clicking it.
3. Press Command + delete to permanently delete the calendar, same as sending a file to the trash.
Hope this helps.

None of these worked for me, in fact one ended up freezing and corrupting my Calender! Anyways I used a different email for school on this computer and I can't sign out or remove it in the Mail application... It's also stuck in my Calendars app... Now my Calendars app wont let me quit it, wont let me shut down, give me this message every MINUTE!!! "The URL https://firstname.lastname@example.orgemail@example.com/user/ encountered HTTP error 404. Make sure the URL is correct.", and again I can't remove the broken URL!

I FIXED IT!!!
Right click the subscribed calendar, go to get info... Then hit account info... And Uncheck the enable this account... Then click the gmail thing in the colom and hit the minus button to delete it from your mailbox and calender... Hope'd this helped!
