Interesting. I just tried that & the link worked for me when exporting via word or PAges, but not on PDF. Can't really think of anything to offer. If you click on the link in iPad Pages, a pop-up shows up, on that you can choose link settings. I'd make sure that when you click that, the Link section includes the http:// part of the URL, although I'm pretty certain it's there, as that is the default (at least on my copy of Pages).
Sorry I can't offer more help, but at least I can confirm that PDF's dont work for me either, but Word & Pages versions do. Hopefully that helps in your troubleshooting.

Thanks for this. I have downloaded the latest pages 9 and when I send the email out in word, everything is totally mixed up and unreadable and in pages format the links don't work. Will it only work if recipients have pages to download the newsletter?
I have made sure that the links include the http but that was already default as you said.
Thanks for your advice!

No, people shouldn't need Pages to view it, it should open up right in Word (if you send out the word formatted copy). You said in your original post that you created it on your iPad, but in the last reply, you said you have Pages 9, which is a Mac only product. When people coulnd't open the links, were you sending it to them directly from the ipad, or were you sending it from the ipad, then opening it on the Mac (in Pages 09), then sending it out. If you're doing the latter, I suspect that's where the problem is occurring, something in Pages 09 is causing the problem. I would recommend doing a simple letter with hyperlinks in iPad Pages & sending that directly to someone, and seeing if they can open the links. At that point, at least oyu'll know if it's the iPad or the Mac version that is messing up.

Hi, I have also been having a problem with none of the hyperlinks working when generated for email in either PDF or Word. Tried inside and outside of tables. Decided to email the sample doc which is in the templates. That doesn't work either. Even tried opening in windows to see if its an iPad or apple system problem. Concluded its a problem with Pages. It's not working! it's a Pages problem. As a newcomer I am not impressed this basic functionality doesn't work. Copy and paste the link outside Pages and the links work. Generated pages don't.
