i am having an uber annoying problem where i can enter a TITLE to a text but i cannot send this text (because Send is greyed out) and i cannot click in the BODY of the text area (because it simply won't let me select this area).

i think i remember some setting where i can turn on or off text titles but does anyone know what is going on here?

i also seem to be getting a slightly weird issue where i click on like M or L and it DELETES (the delete key is close to these two keys).

any ideas on what to do?

hit the genius bar?

To send a message you must have something in the message area. Try typing there without creating a title.

Also quit the Message app and reset your phone.

Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
