I am having some issues with the DCHP:

All our mac/ios devices connect fine. We have around 3x win7 machines and none of them are getting/taking an IP from the DCHP.

(they all use to work fine when I had the dchp running on a netgear router before )

Somewhere I heard win7 has problems with broadcast instead of unicast DCHP requests, not sure if that has anything to with my issue here.

But I like to know a few tips on how to track this down!

Can someone tell me, where I can find the config files for all the services in the Server App? they do not seem to be where I expect them - The UI has most basic feature, but not all I need.

thank you for any advice and kind regards

Well, to start, you could simply run a network tool to view the traffic. That will tell you immediately what exchange, if any, is happening between machines. Wireshark or tcpdump are available for both operating systems

    Hi guys,

I have been sufferring from the same issue but not just restricted to Win 7 machines - it appears to be any that I try to connect.

I'm running OS X Server ML.

Have installed Wireshark on a test windows xp laptop.

Not 100% sure which protocol to look out for - any further help  on what I should be lookking out for / expecting to see please?

    Regards, Justin

    just a quick update...

Got the correct Wireshark filter to show DCHP traffic and I can see the server making a DCHP offer and the laptop making a DCHP request/DCHP discover

Why can't they make a connection? This goes beyond my current knowledge so apologies in adance!
