Q: Jam Packs in ONE folder only?
Hey all,
I've been a Garageband user since the beginning and I've got all the Jam Packs. Every time I update the system or change computer, I have some sort of issue with the Jam Packs (loops and instruments) and have to reinstall them. I'm on the latest system and latest GB version. I just upgraded my hw and I'm attempting to restore the old setup.
Today I can see that the JP's are scattered in my system in 3 different places:
1. HD --> User --> Library --> Audio --> Audio Loops --> User Loops
2. HD --> Library --> Audio --> Apple Loops --> Apple
3. HD --> Library --> Application Support --> GarageBand --> Apple Loops
So my questions are essentially:
1. Has Apple finally seen the light and decided the ONE folder that all loops can be placed in, click "Reindex Loops" and it simply fetches all loops and instruments?
2. In case the answer to the first question is "no", how do I know which are the right folders for which JP's? Some JP's are at the same time in two different folders.
3. How do I tell GB where to find some instruments that it says are missing? (it sends me to the App Store, who doesn't do anything)
Thank you!!
Z
