If you activated find my iphone with your iCloud on that device, sign onto that account on the find my iphone app with another device (yours, a friends) and then when it locates the device, select the device and say erase iPad. It will reset the entire thing and you should be able to use it again.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
