Let's try it again:

I'm looking around on online for an older TV that I can hook up to my white, April 2009 MacBook5,2. I have been reading the discussions here, and I'm still confused about this issue regarding mini-DVI adaptors. It seems some kinds of adaptors are not supported, (such as the one that Apple sells!), but I can't figure out:

  1. which ones are supported
  2. exactly which type I would need

Since most of these older TVs take some kind of analog input, I'm guessing I will need some kind of convertor to go to Composite, or S-Video. Do these convertors have a common type of input, such as VGA? In other words, is the thing I need a mini-DVI to VGA cable, (one which is supported my particular Macbook)?

If so, which one can I be certain will work with my 2009 Macbook 5,2?
