You may try restore your iPhone. But it will erase all your personal data on iPhone. So, before do that, backup your iPhone first:

Thanks for your response. I don't think a reset would have changed anything ... I examined the linkage problems more closely and found that correcting naming errors and un-selecting "compilation" in a few instances was a fix. I would suggest that Apple tech-writers invest a few words in making distinct the concepts of collection (of multiple disks in a multi-disk set) and "compilation" (whatever that is).
