Will the Pro's 2.5  GHz processor make much difference over the Air's 1.8 GHz for my use?  Is the 1.8 sufficient?

I primarily use Microsoft Outlook and Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).  I VPN into my corporate network and browse the Internet.  I have Outlook open all the time along with an Office application and a couple of browsing sessions.  I would also like Windows 8 installed side by side.  I rarely watch movies on my laptop and never play games.

in my opinion no it won't make much difference

my MacBook Air is 1.7 and I use it more heavily than you, and everything works fine. sometimes a bit laggy but i think this is because of graphics

the one thing that stands out is the parallels thing, i don't think the processor would make much difference here but i would be sure to go with the 8GB RAM option
