Why is "Console" "Diagnostic and user messages" now dominated by Safari messages?

I have randomly used Console over the years for trouble shooting, and now find it to be virtually worthless.

Both "All Messages" and "Diagnostic and Usage Messages" are now dominated by messages from Safari.

I do have the "Develop" menu displayed so that I can periodically "Empty Caches" since that option is no longer available otherwise.

And what might these messages be? A few examples, please, not hundreds.

In the log file, they are not expanded as they are here.

Occasionally, they references something like shockwave, but most are this kind of "statistical" message.

The file also contains the usual assortment of Mai, Mds, etc. messages, but VERY FEW in contrast to these messages from Safari.

    Those are normal log messages.

    William --

Is anything wrong with Safari?  Is it failing to display pages properly?   Are you able to surf with it?  Does it crash?

If it's working well, don't worry about it.  After several years, I no longer even open Console unless something's very wrong.   Notations there are not "errors."  They're notations.  That goes for the other messages you're seeing, as well.

I realize they are "normal" log messages -- however, they flood the log and prevent the finding of "other" messages.

I have no problems with Safari, I'm debugging other problems, but I cannot tell if OSX or they are bothering to log anything as the log is filled with "normal" (but completely meaningless) messages from Safari.

And personally, I do not consider such content-free messages to be normal, but rather to be a screw-up by some programmer who "forgot" to turn off or remove their debugging code.  There is a 10% chance that if the messages provided information about "what pages" they were about, it might be meaningful, but as placed in the log, they are completely worthless.
